Dutchman Stefan Stam has signed a two year contract that will keep him at Boundary Park. After signing Stefan told the official website, "I am delighted to be staying at Boundary Park and joining such a famous club as Oldham Athletic. I have now become accustomed to the English style of play, and know what is now expected of me. I have become a better player on the defensive side of my game and I feel comfortable either at fullback or in the centre of defence. It has always been a dream of mine to play football in England and now the dream has come true, I would like to thank the fans for the way in which they have accepted me and I look forward to Latics promotion push next season. He came on trial in February and impressed so much that he was offered a contract till the end of the season. Ronnie Moore said of him, "Stefan has done really well and he gives us versatility on the left-hand side. The difficulty is knowing his best position as he can play either left-back or on the left-side in the centre of defence."
