Stirling Albion 0 Latics 5

Last updated : 20 July 2015 By The Chairman

The Latics ran out easy 5-0 winners in a one sided friendly game at Stirling Albion on Friday night. Triallist Alen Ploj scored twice and Danny Philliskirk, Dominic Poleon and Rhys Turner bagged the others in the pre-season run out.

Darren Kelly made seven changes at the break to give all his players some playing time in a wet and windy Forthbank Stadium. A good following of fans made the long journey and were rewarded with the convincing performance against the part-timers of Stirling. It could have been even more with missed chances by Philliskirk and Danny Byrnes saving any more embarrassment.

A nice touch was made by the Albion chairman in the second half when he went into the stand to talk to the travelling supporters and to thank them for their support. There was also some good banter between the Latics fans and some of the home supporters.
