Striker is still a target

John Sheridan is still contemplating signing a new striker and he hopes to have his 'new face' at Boundary Park sometime in the next few weeks. The return to action of Chris Porter (pictured) has seen an upturn in fortunes on the scoring front. The team had only scored one goal in five games before Porters return, but now they have hit seven goals in the last four games, quite a turn-around.

Manager John Sheridan said, “I'm fairly happy with what I've got at the moment and I'm confident in their ability to score goals. We've been looking much brighter up front, but that doesn't mean we can sit back and stop looking to improve the squad. We need to keep moving forward, so if a proven striker becomes available and we can afford to sign him, I'll do my best. That hasn't happened yet, and I've been trying for a long time, but it would help to get somebody on loan.”
