The Latics begin their pre-season friendly build up at Barrow tomorrow at 7:45pm. and manager John Sheridan is taking the whole professional squad along for the game. The only player missing will be the injured Neil Wood and the squad will also include on trial Paul Boertien who is out to impress enough to be offered a contract at Boundary Park.

The manager said, "We will be looking to come away from the game with positives in all areas. Of course it's the first game of pre-season and every player should be given a chance to at least play some part in the game, but it's always nice to win no matter the level. Winning breeds confidence and that's a major part of today's game. I know the results of friendlies don't really matter but I will be going there to win and see a good performance."
