Shaun Allaway’s unexpected decision to quit the Latics means that manager Brian Talbot must begin his search again to find a back up to cover for Les Pogliacomi. Talbot said, “It came as a surprise, but it is better to happen at this stage than days before the start of the season. I have one or two irons in the fire and will keep looking so we will have to see what transpires.”

Talbot is taking a look at a Slovenian 'keeper who is set to train with the club for the next week. At 23 and 6'-4" Dino Seremet (pictured) will be closely watched by Talbot and goalkeeping coach Stuart Naylor. Seremet previously played for NK Maribor, which are one of the top teams in Slovenia.
