Talbot remains confident

Brian Talbot is desperately racing to get in a recognised striker to face Bolton Wanderers in Sunday’s huge game. It will be quite a tall order as Scott Vernon, Chris Killen, Rodney Jack and Jermaine Johnson are all injured and it will be difficult to find a player who is not already cup-tied.

Talbot said, “There isn’t much time left and it wouldn’t be ideal to pitch someone straight into the Bolton game, but anyone can see we’re short of cover up front. The cup tie would have been difficult with a fully-fit squad, and now it’s going to be even tougher. But I’m confident a player will join us today.”
