Winger Chris Taylor has signed a deal which will keep him with Latics until June 2010. Taylor, who made his 50th. senior appearance in Tuesday's game against Blackpool, is a lifelong Latics fan.

He said of the deal, "I'm really pleased to sign this new deal. As long as the club wanted me there was no way I was going to leave. I come in every morning and everyone's got a smile on their face. It's such a happy place to be and I love it here. The manager has shown a lot of faith in me, and I owe him a lot for the position I'm in now. I'm absolutely delighted to commit myself to this club long-term. I've got three years, but would have probably signed for more if I could."

"I've supported this club all my life and it was always my ambition to stay. The training's good, the manager's good and hopefully we can get where we all want to be at the end of the season. There's been a lot of good games, but my debut against Nottingham Forest stands out. Hopefully my first goal will come, too, and I'm sure that match will be one to to remember for me!"
