Taylor returns to squad

Latics winger Chris Taylor returns to the squad for the visit of Gillingham on Saturday and manager John Sheridan is demanding that he establishes himself as one of the major players at the club. Taylor returns from a one match ban coming off the back of an outstanding performance in the 2-0 victory over Carlisle United.

With new signing David Livermore giving the side a new option on the left of midfield there is no guarantee that the ginger headed favourite will start the game.

Sheridan said, "Chris was a threat against Carlisle, and that's the kind of performance I want to see from him more often. Everyone thinks he's the best player at the club, but he has to prove he can do it week in, week out."
