Team News for Saturday

The Latics are looking for their twelfth away win for the season at Cheltenham and Iain Dowie could be embarrassed with almost a full squad pick from. Clint Hill and Julien Baudet both come into the reckoning.

Dowie said, “Fingers crossed, we are going to be well off at the back, which is a great position to be in. Clint is a massive influence and, although I see Julien as cover for midfield as well as defence, he has played a big part in our record. Hopefully they won’t suffer any reaction to playing in the reserves. If that’s the case, you never know – they might just be involved at Cheltenham. The back three did well against Barnsley on Saturday, especially in the second half, but there are times when you want to shake things up. Julien works hard and, if strength is needed, then Clint is the sort of player you would be mad to leave out. It’s possible they will both need another game but, whatever happens, we should soon have some big additions to the squad.”

Baudet has made only one first team appearance since January when he served a five-match ban. His return game was at Bristol City where he suffered a thigh strain. Hill has just recovered from a broken leg.
