Thorne deal dead?

Norwich striker Peter Thorne may not be moving to Athletic after all as he is in favour of a full time contract instead of joining on a loan deal. Wages are a big stumbling block as he will need to take a significant reduction in personal terms. If the deal is not concluded by Wednesday night the deal will be dead as the signing window will have closed.

Manager John Sheridan admitted, β€œIt's no secret that I've asked about Peter Thorne and if I can bring him in I will, but it looks like it might be difficult. We've got to do the right thing for the club and at the end of the day it will come down to money. There's a big difference between the wages in this league and the Championship, but we don't have a lot to spend. He doesn't want to come on loan so it would have to be permanent and time isn't really on our side.”
