Paul Trollope was pleased with his teams victory over the Latics and his team have now gone five games undefeated. He told the official Pirates website, "We can't be pleased or content with what we've done so far. We began the season poorly, but we've turned the corner, and now we need to keep a mentality about us that sees us continue to win games. We still need to improve in areas, but we're confident in this group of players, and with the ones coming back from injury, that we can make a serious challenge at the top end of the table."

"We know we haven't always started matches well, but against Oldham we made some good decisions early on, and if we get the first goal in matches then we always fancy ourselves. We knew they would come at us in the second half, they are a good side with quality players, but we defended well and restricted them to mostly skirmishes from set-pieces. We probably allowed more crosses into our box than usual, but we defended them very well and they had very few clear goal scoring opportunities. We had a bit of luck on occasion, but at the same time we're disappointed not to have scored one or two more on the counter."
