Trollope thinks his team were good value

Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope thought that his team were good value for their win over Athletic. He told the official Rovers website, "We were solid up until the last 15 minutes, and then we managed to put them under some sustained pressure. I thought we went close on a number of occasions during that spell, and in the end we got the winner we deserved. Their goalkeeper made a few good saves, we hit the crossbar, and it was starting to look like it might be a frustrating evening for us. But some good play from Sean Rigg down the left and a nice header from Craig Disley gave us the three points and we're delighted with that."

"At half-time we said we needed to pass it a bit more, they'd been holding a high line which meant we had to go a bit more direct. But in the second half we managed to pass it more, and in the end we got stronger and stronger and got the goal we were looking for. There are players on the bench that want to be in the team, and players out of the squad that want to be in the 16. But with a lot of games coming up everyone will be needed and there will be opportunities, and we saw that tonight."
