Trotman leaves Boundary Park

Neal Trotman has officially left Boundary Park. The youngster has been the subject of transfer speculation as the signing window has neared closure and it was expected that he would move to Plymouth after they tabled a £350,000 bid. However things materialised at local Championship side Preston North End, and he made a surprise £500,000 switch to them. Other clubs were starting to show interest but Preston boss Alan Irvine jumped in with the offer which was subsquently accepted by Athletic.

Trotman has signed a three and a half year contract to keep him at Deepdale. The deal includes the initial half a million pounds transfer fee and Athletic will also receive further payments based on appearances. Chiefs at Boundary Park have also added a sell on clause so it looks like a good bit of business as Trotman was out of contract in summer and we could have ended up with another Porter fiasco.
