Trotman renews contract

Neal Trotman has renewed his contract with Athletic and becomes the first renewal of the outstanding players who were offered new deals with the club. An option to renew for a further year was written into the defender's terms, and the club have exercised the right to renew his contract until the summer of 2008.

Trotman broke through into the first team after figuring as substitute for some time and scored his first goal in the FA Cup First Round tie at Kettering, when he headed a goal in the exciting 4-3 win. The player then went out on loan to Conference side Halifax Town and the centre back went on to notch up 12 appearances and score three goals before his season was cruelly ended by injury.
