Turnbull turns around

Middlesbrough keeper Ross Turnbull has returned to the Riverside Stadium after a dramatic u-turn. The initial deal was for the player to be on loan until the end of December with the possibility of an extension until the end of the season. Middlesbrough would not allow Turnbull to appear in any cup games though which was the big stumbling block.

After much deliberation, Ronnie Moore decided that the deal would not be in the best interests of the club because they would be in the same position come October. With only a week to go before the season kicks off it is going to be a frantic scramble to get a high calibre keeper in at this late stage.
