Two new players for Blackpool game?

The Latics are hoping to have a new striker and a midfielder on board before the transfer deadline on Thursday. Ronnie Moore has been given the go ahead in a final push for promotion and he said, “It won't be easy to get the players we want, but I like to think there will be new faces before the game against Blackpool on Saturday.”

Andy Liddell is out for the season, Chris Porter is struggling with an injured knee, Stefan Stam has just undergoan a hernia operation and Will Haining got injured in training and is waiting to hear if he will play again this season.

It is rumoured that both players will be from the Championship and Jim Magilton has not been ruled out even though he was offered a chance to return to his old team Oxford in a management role. Magilton is thought to prefer a move back north.
