Two of Athletic’s nine surplus players have reached agreements to terminate their contracts. Shaun Garnett (pictured) has been on loan with Halifax Town and is being offered a permanent position. He joined Athletic from Swansea in 1996 and went on to make 195 senior appearances. Joe Doran is the other player to leave. He was on a 12-month contract and was hoping to move on loan to Hyde United but it fell through. Doran is hoping to get fixed up with a non-league team.
