Mick Wadsworth has been appointed a director of Athletic following a restructuring of the board. Chairman Chris Moore was quick to point out that Wadsworth's new role will not affect his job as head coach. Moore said, “What this does do is to link the business side of the company with the football. Wadsworth will not hold the title of technical director, a post which is part of my future vision for the club. I have been delighted with Mick's performance in taking the club to ninth position in division two. It is the first time we have finished in the top half of a division for 10 years.”
Wadsworth commented, “I am delighted to accept a directorship of this well known and established football club. With Chris Moore, Alan Hardy and myself working tirelessly I think we have a terrific chance to bring Latics fans the sustained success that they deserve.”
