Wellens banned

Richie Wellens who got dismissed in the final minutes of the victory over Tranmere on Saturday will serve an immediate three match ban for his straight red card. Wellens has already been banned once before this season under the totting-up system for yellow cards and will miss tonights clash with his old team Blackpool as well as the Swansea and Millwall games.

A dejected John Sheridan admitted, “It's disappointing because Richie is a big player for us. It's important we keep him on the pitch as much as possible but apparently he kicked out at the Tranmere lad.”
