Richie Wellens will be taking charge of the managers job after the leaving of John Sheridan. Tommy Wright has also left the club. Wellens takes on the role on an interim basis after working as first team coach. Tomorrow’s game at home to Peterborough United will be his first game in charge. His assistants for the time being will be youth team manager Tony Philliskirk, goalkeeping coach Carlo Nash and fitness coach John Harbin.

Wellens commented, “First of all, I’m gutted for John and Tommy. They are two people I’ve known for a long time and I have a lot of respect for both of them but it’s happened now and we have just got to get on with it. I will take things day by day and hopefully we can get the three points tomorrow. It’s about getting a smile back on the players faces, trying to get them to enjoy playing football and try and be positive in the way that we play. We need to start getting over the bad run that we are on and try climbing up the league.”
