What the managers thought

Latics boss John Sheridan was philosophical after the dramatic fight back shown by his team at Accrington. He said, "The first half we just weren't at the races. Again we gave away sloppy goals and Accrington caused us one or two problems. In the second half we just upped the tempo and I told them to get at them. We showed a bit of desire and I told them to show me that they wanted to win the game."

"I think we did the second half. We were a lot better and created a lot of chances and luckily for us we got three goals. At the end of the game we deserved to win but, no disrespect to Accrington, we should be coming here and making things a lot easier for ourselves."

A disappointed Stanley manager, John Coleman added, "The games are 90 minutes and, as we've done in the past, we've conspired to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."
