Where is the next win?

The Latics stuttered to another reverse at Preston but Lee Johnson says his players are confident that they can still avoid relegation. They looked confident for the first hour but then lapsed into their old ways of falling away near the end of the game. A penalty for a handball by Jonathan Grounds, combined with another in added time, secured a 2-0 success for Preston and left the Latics scratching their heads as to how they are going to win another game.

Johnson admitted, “I am devastated. The boys played perfectly to the game plan and worked their socks off but this happens in football, sometimes you get a punch in the gut. We have five games left to better Scunthorpe’s results. The players know that. I believe we can get wins. And it is important we stay together and get a positive result on Saturday. It was bad defending. Grounds should work his feet quicker and get out there quicker. He has turned his back and he has thrown his arm up in the air. What do you expect?”
