Danny Whitaker was delighted to receive the first Player of the Month award for the season. The 27 year old was busy fighting a relegation battle at Port Vale last season and has admitted that he's enjoying life at the top of the league much better.Whitaker said, "I knew we had a good team when I first came because the gaffer said he'd managed to keep hold of most of his players from last season, which is obviously good. The team have been different class since the opening day and personally my form seems to coming along nicely. Myself and Mark Allott have got a good relationship going on and off the pitch and that's pleasing. People like Sean Gregan and Reuben Hazell have been outstanding for us too, particularly in the last couple of away games."
