White joins Latics

Aidan White has joined Athletic on loan from Leeds United and can’t wait to get back playing again. The England under-19s international was allowed to be released by manager Simon Grayson as he made his last appearance for Leeds back in mid-September and the manager thought the experience would do him well.

An ex-team mate of Latics boss Paul Dickov, White said, “It has been a bit frustrating as I have been involved with the first-team squad on a number of occasions this season but have only played three times. It is good to get out on loan and hopefully I can get games under my belt. I know the manager from his time at Leeds and he is a great person and someone I am really looking forward to working with. He gave his all on the pitch and I know his team will play in the same way. We have got a game in hand and if we were to win that we would shoot up the table. I can’t wait to get started.”

White will likely make his debut at Dagenham in todays fixture although the exact nature of the role he will play at Victoria Road is currently unclear as Paul Black and Cedric Evina are currently taking up the two left sided roles in the Athletic line-up. He added, “I am not quite sure yet and will need to sit down with the manager on that but I am quite happy to play wherever.”
