John moved to the Oldham area in 1984 after gaining a B.Sc Hons degree in Biochemistry and has spent 18 years working at Seton in a number of capacities including Export Director and PR Director.
Whitmore is a lifelong football supporter who was instrumental in setting up the Seton sponsorship of the Chaddy End back in the 1990's. John told the official website, "I am delighted to join Oldham Athletic and look forward to pushing the club's commercial operations forward."
