Wes Wilkinson, who tore knee cartilage at Bristol City, may be out for the rest of the season and may eventually need surgery on his knee. The 19 year old is currently playing through the pain and Brian Talbot is hoping that he may still play some part in the Latics fight against relegation. Talbot said, “Wes is struggling, and it’s case of whether or not he can get through games. Ideally he will play to the end of the season, but we know that might not be possible. We will keep monitoring the situation and possibly make a decision after the Wrexham match in a couple of weeks. We have one or two other options up front, but Wes has done quite well and I would like him to be available.”
