Carl Winchester was last week handed his first full cap for Northern Ireland. The 18-year-old was a late substitute as Wales lost 2-0 defeat at Dublin's Aviva Stadium.
Winchester has previously been capped at under-21 level and it shows remarkable progress as he only joined the Latics last summer straight from school. Winchester has this season been rewarded with his first professional contract.
