Windass signs

Hull City legend Dean Windass has signed on-loan for Athletic until the end of the season. Manager John Sheridan had to fight off stiff competition from Blackpool and Hartlepool, tomorrows visitors. Windass knows Shez from his playing days and he is also a close friend of Latics injured keeper Mark Crossley.

Windass is expected to make his debut against Hartlepool tomorrow, subject to the game being played. Field inspections by match referee Carl Boyeson are currently positive and, unless their is another freeze, the game is expected to be staged.

First team appearances have been few and far between at Hull and he is delighted to be given a first team opportunity. The burly, old-fashioned centre foreward certainly knows where the net is as he has scored 228 goals, two short of 200 league goals, from 688 total appearances in all competitions.
