Winjhard boost

Athletic have been given a boost with the news that Clyde Wijnhard hopes for a comeback before the end of the month. With crucial games against Crewe and Cardiff coming up, it is possible that Wijnhard may be ready.

Originally Winjhard was told that he would be out of action for up to 18 months but a second opinion meant that it is hopeful that he could recover without any surgery. With Carlo Corazzin playing through the pain barrier (he has been
delaying a knee operation since October) this news is good for Iain Dowie and his team.

Other injury news is that Dean Holden, Josh Low, Tony Carss and Matty Appleby are all making excellent progress and should be ready for action in the not too distant future. Clint Hill has had his plaster removed but it is unlikely that he will be playing again this season.
