The high-profile signing of striker Clyde Wijnhard has now been completed after he sucessfully undertook a medical at Boundary Park. The 28-year-old Dutchman, who once cost Leeds United £1.5million, completed a deal which will keep him with the Latics until the end of the season.

Commenting on the deal Dowie said, “Clyde only wanted to sign until the end of the season because he is keen to play again at a higher level, which is a measure of his ambition. I hope he achieves that with us, but it is a great credit to everybody at the club that Clyde wants to come here.”
