Wood out for lengthy time

A scan has revealed that Neil Wood has cruciate ligament damage in his left knee and is expected to be out of action for some time. Wood twisted his knee in training and now awaits the surgeon's diagnosis.

The best he can hope for is being out of action for 6-8 weeks but the midfielder is hoping that it is not a serious injury as that could take anything up to six months.

Wood is 24 years old and signed last summer from Blackpool. He has made four first team starts with three substitutions.
