The Latics are through to the second round of the FA Cup after seeing off Carlisle with a fine 3-0 performance at Boundary Park. It was pretty much one way traffic and a two minute, two goal blast in the first half gave Carlisle a mountain to climb. Calvin Zola fired in the first, followed by Ernie Cooksey (pictured) who slotted home the second.Chances for the Latics came fast and furious and Cooksey put the game beyond any doubt in the 78th. minute when he slid in to steer the third goal in. 16 year old sub. Chris Hall scored with five minutes to go but the effort was ruled offside. The only black mark came when Darren Sheridan was cautioned again for a foul.
