The Latics ran riot at Adams Park (yes they still want to call it that). 0-3 up at half time and the game finished with a 2-5 win for a rampant Latics team. Murray (pictured) scored a brace with Hall, Zola and Killen (penalty) doing the rest of the damage against a Wycome team that is going through very difficult times. It was a remarkable result considering the many problems which have done everything to contribute to the Latics losing everything. It is a fine testament to Iain Dowie who has kept the team together under very difficult circumstances. The result means that Athletic are unbeated in five games.

After the game, a delighted Dowie said, “We've worked long and hard on keeping the ball and possession. We were comfortably in control in the second half but a little bit less so in the first half. I was a little bit disappointed with some of our defending but it's churlish to score 5 away from home and not talk about the good things. That's five games unbeaten now which is pleasing and it's pleasing to get a nice comprehensive away win, the first of the season. But we played well. We've had the chances to do that to other teams but we haven't quite done it. Today we certainly did."

"There was great travelling support again who were vocal throughout. Terrific when people spend their hard-earned money so it's pleasing for them to see their team win. I don't think anyone would doubt that we deserved to win today. I still think that we need one or two players and that's something that I'll try to address. If we can do that then we can push on. But we have got some good players. I thought that Danny Hall again was very accomplished at the back. I thought that John Eyre was very good again today He does lots of great work and the front two for 25 minutes in the first half were excellent.”
