Yeovil Town 3 Oldham Athletic 0

It was a disappointing trip to Yeovil for the travelling fans of Athletic as their team capitulated with no fight in a boring end of season game. The cider men had a purpose and needed just a point to maintain their standing in League One for next season but the Latics might have well just posted them the three points. Without a shot on goal, and producing a totally lack-lustre performance it was a nightmare for the faithful few who travelled to Huish Park to witness the non-event.

Manager Dave Penney admitted, "It was a poor day. You should play with pride, even if it is a five-a-side game, but we didn't want to win enough. We didn't keep our shape and were ill disciplined and didn't have the desire that got us positive results in the last seven games. We had a positive reaction April to win three, draw three and lose at Huddersfield when we should have taken something from the game, but this was a disappointing display."

It's a good job that they weren't needing the points to stay afloat as the performance did not justify anything and it merely reinforced the 'Penny Out' brigade's stance which again raised it's head with negative chanting throughout the game. A miserable day all-round!
