Latics and German Fans with a Common Bond

Pictured above are Frederick Funk and Andreas Ebert who travelled over from Germany to see Athletic play at Millwall in August 2006. They are pictured with Athletic fans in a London Pub after the game. Prost boys!

Fanatical Latics supporters Mike Robinson and Ian Fleming presented the sign from the now demolished Auld Lang Syne pub in Manchester Road, Werneth to fans of the German side Eintracht Frankfurt as a goodwill gesture during the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Mike said, “We have been friends with Eintracht Frankfurt soccer supporters for 25 years since we played them in the first European Supporters’ Club soccer final 25 years ago. They regularly visit Latics and we, in turn, go out to see them on their home turf." Mike and Ian drove to Germany to present the sign to hotelier Stefan Faulstich, at his 20 bedroomed Gasthof Roenblick at Fulda, about 60 miles from Frankfurt.

Is Adam the youngest Latics Supporter?

The LSC, Canada

It came as a big shock to the Chairman when the last meeting of the season was held for 2004-05. Hailed as an 'unofficial' meeting of the LSC as it was on a Thursday, it has gradually become known as 'Abuse The Chairman Week' as no yellow or red cards can be given out. Abuse the Chairman they did too! A whole group of members came dressed in Watford caps and scalves in an attempt to wind up the Chairman. It was too much to bear as one member actually had the audacity to come in a Manure shirt. It was too much for the camera as it refused to take the red one. The Chairman took it all in stride and remained composed throughout the ordeal. However, he does have a long memory and there had better be plenty of free refreshments come next season or somebody will be seeing red!
