Harbin joins Dowie

John Harbin is to join former Latics boss Iain Dowie at Crystal Palace. The Fitness Conditioner and Sports Psychologist met with Dowie on Thursday and he then considered the offer for 24 hours before arriving at his decision to move to Selhurst Park.

The players were unaware of the decision on Saturday as it was thought that it might influence their concentration for the Brighton game.


New owner Simon Blitz said, “We are obviously sorry to see John leave Boundary Park. I think he has had a tremendous influence on the players during his time at the club and I would like to thank him for all his help. We offered John an improved contract in an effort to keep him but we could not match the offer made by Crystal Palace.”
