Former England star Rob Lee is on the verge of signing a contract at Athletic. It is believed that the 38 year-old will initially sign a one month deal. Lee has been training at Boundary Park and has impressed the Latics staff enough to consider paying out a good fee for his services.

Simon Corney said, “Discussions are ongoing and I'm very hopeful of concluding something this week. It would be good to have someone like Rob Lee available to us, although what happened next would be up to the manager.”
Lee has not played for over a year but is very experienced with 21 England caps and 665 league appearances for Charlton, Newcastle, Derby and West Ham and he could go right into the team at Bradford.

Brian Talbot commented, “Rob decided to stop playing after West Ham released him in the summer, but he missed it and is keen to get back. He has got other commitments to think about, like his media work, but it would be a nice lift for the club if he joined us.”
