Fullback Kelvin Lomax is likely to be out of action for up to a month after undergoing an operation on his groin to correct an ongoing problem. He told the official website, "I've been waiting for the specialist surgeon to be free for a couple of weeks now and it's good to finally have it over and done with. I was only in for one night, on Tuesday evening, and everything went well it seems. The operation worked to take the pressure off the ligaments in my midrift, freeing up my stomach and groin."
"It's a strange one, they make three cuts, put a camera down through the middle of my stomach area and then two instruments through either side of that to do the work. It'll now be about a month before I'm back fully, but I'm just grateful to have the surgery out of the way. I can't complain though, as with all this snow I've not really missed that much. The lads have been stuck working inside which is pretty much what I'll be doing anyway now, although right now I'm just icing it and waiting for the fluid to drain."
