Major team selection problems for trip to Goodison

The Latics have major problems with their team selection for the trip to Everton on Saturday in the FA Cup. The amazing win at Leeds was tinged with the news that they had picked up three injury concerns. In serious doubt are Chris Taylor (pictured), Lee Hughes and Mark Crossley and with Ryan Bertrand and Neil Kilkenny both finishing their loan periods, manager John Sheridan will need to look closely at the permutations that he can muster. Neal Trotman will also miss the game due to a one match ban coming into effect.

Taylor only lasted 19 minutes after suffering a hamstring problem and Hughes left the game with a groin strain. Reserve keeper Les Pogliacomi was almost called into action when Crossley took an ankle knock and needed to be helped back to the dressing room after the referee had finished the game.

Sheridan said, "It's a great opportunity, so I just hope we can get people fit. I don't know how the injured players are at the moment, and I'll leave that in the hands of the physio. We will see how they progress this week before making a decision on Saturday's game."
