McAlister is latest addition to team

We would like to introduce the latest member of the FootyMad team, Ian McAlister. Here is his autobiography:

My name is Ian McAlister, 20 years of age. I’ve supported my home town club all my life. I’m very passionate about the Latics and I try to get to as many games home and away. At home you’ll find me in the Pukka Pies Stand trying my best to generate some atmosphere into the stand with little effect.

My first game was in the 89/90 season against Ipswich Town, I think it was when Roger Palmer broke the goalscoring record but we won 4-2 in the end and I was hooked from that moment. I went to Wembley on both occasions. I didn’t start attending regulary though until we were relegated from the first division so it’s been pretty much misery for me so far. In my younger days I represented Oldham as the mascot. It was away against Port Vale, we ended up winning 3-1. Fantastic day!

I’ll be writing the match previews and the reports after the games so if you have any issues with them you know who to turn to and have a go at. I’ll also be doing one or two articles too during the season. Last of all this has been a very trying and eventful season for the Latics. We’ve been on the decline but now we have new owners and a permanent manager on board things will start to improve. The owners have appointed the right man for the job.
