Moore set to return to Rotherham?

Rumours are abounding that Athletic manager Ronnie Moore could be set for a sensational return to his old club at Millmoor. Mick Harford left the club on Saturday when results were going bad and Rotherham are now in the position of fighting against a second successive relegation. Ex-players Bobby Williamson and Chris Wilder are also in the running for the unenviable job.

When Moore left the Millers he was told that he would not be offered a new contract after seven years at the club. He became a free agent and then landed the Oldham managers job. He publicly slated the board when he left but admitted on BBC Radio Sheffield that he was hoping that the “five wise men“ might approach him with a view to returning. Moore went on, “Well you can never say never in football can you? Who would have thought Harry Redknapp would have gone back to Portsmouth? I love this club and it has been part of my life for an awful long time as both a player and a manager and the fans were absolutely magnificent to me.“

Moore is still liked by most of the Millmoor faithful and it was not a popular decision among the fans when he left but where do these rumours start? Is there any truth in this one? I doubt it, but time will tell.
