An official statement from Oldham Athletic means that their new manager will not be unveiled until next Wednesday. It’s all ‘cloak and dagger’ stuff at the moment with nothing being given away. Speculation is, and always is, rife with names being banded about left, right and centre. ‘Chaddy the Owl’ is the latest contender and it is expected that he will be named the new manager next week. It is rumoured that Chaddy will revert to the old style of play which was so successful in the 60’s when Athletic got promoted from the Fourth Division. “I believe in two wings,” said Chaddy in an exclusive interview, “and my style of play will soon see up perched high in the league.”
