On This Day in History

Just a reminder of what things the Latics have got up to on this day in history throughout the years.

Do you remember on............Tuesday 26th April 1949

An amazing 35,268 supporters turned up to watch the 1-1 draw with Hull City in a season where the Latics averaged a 14,500 gate.

The club's directors were so pleased with the turn outs that they offered the manager Billy Wootton a new two year contract which he gratefully accepted.
