Positives and negatives from Clyde game

Manager John Sheridan took some positives and some negatives form the recent friendly at Clyde. He said, "The main point of this game was again fitness, but the two goals we conceded were very poor. We were sloppy at the back again, and that's something we're going to have to work on. There were one or two areas I was pleased with, though. We looked a little bit sharper and there were some good individual performances."

"Craig Davies (pictured) played well and came up with a good finish for his goal, while the young lads who came on also did well. I'm pleased for Deane Smalley, he's very good in the air and did well for his goal. He's not let himself down at all, this is a learning curve for all the young lads. We've now scored from corners in each of the last two games, and it was a great delivery from Andy Liddell for the second goal. Andy's got a great delivery and I've told him we need that. We'll be putting more work into set pieces so people know exactly where to be for that ball into the box."

"We've brought a lot of new players in and they don't know each other too well at the moment. Obviously that will improve as we go down the line, and I think this trip will go a long way to pulling them even closer together as a unit. The important thing is that we're ready when the Swansea game comes around on August 11th. The hard work on systems and team shape starts on Monday. We've not really done any work on that yet and we will be working hard on defending, set pieces and a number of other areas. I expect us to be bang on for the next two friendlies. Now is the time I want to step it up a gear."
