Ray Wilson dies

Former Latics' player and member of England’s 1966 World Cup winning team, Ray Wilson, has died aged 83 following a lengthy battle against Alzheimer’s. He played 25 times for the Latics in his swan song season, the 1969/70 season.

 

Wilson started his 19 year career at Huddersfield Town and played for Everton, Oldham and Bradford City. After his football career he owned his own business as an undertaker in Huddersfield.
